We have already reviewed a few suction-side pool cleaners manufactured by Hayward and nearly all of them have received high ratings on our website. The Aquanaut 200 is no exception because it delivers great performance at any water flow and because it comes with all features you could ask for from a pool cleaner in this price range.
But is this pool cleaner appropriate for your needs and budget? Check out our ultimate Aquanaut 200 review down below!
Aquanaut 200 vs. Aquanaut 400
There are two versions of the Aquanaut pool cleaner on the market. The 200 comes with 2-wheel drive technology and the 400 comes with 4-wheel drive. Obviously the 4-drive system provides better grip and allows the Aquanaut to travel the pool surface more smoothly without getting stuck. But the 4WD technology comes at a price which is why the 400 model is a little bit more expensive than the 200, so it’s up to you to decide if you want to spend a few extra bucks for a better performance. We believe that it’s worth it just to have an extra piece of mind knowing that the machine won’t get stuck somewhere in the middle of the swimming pool.
The Aquanaut 200 is designed for swimming pools measuring up to 16 x 32 feet and the Aquanaut 400 is designed for swimming pools measuring up to 20 x 40 feet. Both of them are appropriate for different types of pool surface (concrete, gunite, vinyl, fiberglass, tile, and pebble).
The main reason why Aquanaut 200 is so popular among pool owners is the V-Flex technology. It automatically adjusts the vanes to allow any sized debris to pass into the cleaner. Remember, many other suction-side pool cleaners on the market need to have debris filters changed for specific size of debris, but the Aquanaut 200 gives you the luxury of complete piece of mind.
Three interchangeable throats can improve suction performance at any flow while allowing larger debris such as leaves and sticks to pass. These interchangeable throats make the Aquanaut ideal to use with pumps with variable speed.
